Mysterio is a skilled illusionist and magician, able to trick even the most vigilant of enemies with slight of hand and holographic displays. He is an expert at both CGI and practical effects from his time as a hollywood special effect artist.



He is also skilled in robotics, having created various robotic duplicates of himself, a robot that could traverse to alternate realities, and even a fully sentient robot daughter.



Paraphernalia: Mysterio has a variety of gadgetry built into his suit, ranging from lasers, to air cannons, an antigravity flight pack, holographic illusion projectors realistic enough to fool enhanced senses like Wolverine's, and smoke machines. He is also known to utilize robot duplicates and drones quite often.

Mysterio relies too much on his tricks and tools in a fight, if it came to an actual brawl he would be near helpless.



His ego is also off the charts, willing to reveal himself if it meant getting the fame and glory for his deeds.



He also does not deal with failure well, enough repeated failures are enough to drive him spirling into a self hating depression.

Subject History

Quentin Beck started out as nothing more than a kid who enjoyed magic tricks. His deadbeat dad however, was less than enthusiastic. Often pretending that Quentin wasn't even there, instead pretending to talk to his dead mother, often just to insult Beck in an indirect manner. Desperate for any kind of attention, Quentin got a job in Hollywood, both as a stuntman and a special effects designer. the longer he went however, the less people recognized his talents. Feeling as if he had to step things up a notch, he attempted to try out as an actor, but was swiftly denied due to a lack of acting ability or looks.



This anger would eventually reach it's breaking point when during a filmshoot, Spiderman mistook the special effects for an actual emergency and attempted to intervene, causing the stunt to go wrong and put everyone in danger. Instead of Spiderman however, Beck recieved all the blame! Fired and brimming with hatred, Beck would create the mantle of Mysterio in an attempt to ruin the wallcrawler's life as he felt the webhead had done to him. Time after time again the two would clash, always ending with Mysterio's defeat.



Eventually Beck would fake his own death after failing to defeat other heroes such as Daredevil. Several other would take over his mantl, but none held a candle to the original, prompting Beck to make one final gamble to remind the world what Mysterio could REALLY do! In the process both finding out Spiderman's identity, via a robot duplicate he was controlling in the Ultimate Universe. Once again Mysterio would fail...but isntead of prison, Spiderman would exile him in the ultimate dimension, where knowledge of his identity was useless. Eventually returning to his native dimension Mysterio attacked Spiderman before being nearly killed by deadpool, who ran him over in the dead-buggy by accident. Waking up in the hospital, saved by spiderman...Beck felt worthless, giving up the mantle of Mysterio once more.



Retiering to Las Vegas, he would soon find himself visited by both his daughter Misty Beck, and Ben Riely, the Scarlet Spider. Ben was certain that Beck's presence itself was a sign of something heinous and attacked him, interrogating him over a crime he had no connection with. This left Quentin shaken and furious enough to join in on his daughter's scheme of gaining power through a dark ritual. What he didn't know however, was the cost of sacrificing that which you love. Misty had brought him to be her sacrifice as he was what she loved most. The two struggled and after Riely's introduction Mysterio accidentally plunged the knife into his daughter's chest,the horrified magician gaining dark power from Dormammu as he attacked Riely in grief and anger, ending when The Scarlet Spider cut his hand off to seperate him from the powers. Misty would be revealed to have been a robot all this time, but that didn't mean Beck loved her any less...



Grieving once more, hand reattached, Beck tried to drown out his final days, disguised in a nursing home. However Sin, the daughter of the red skull, her boyfriend Crossbones, and Miss Sinister all conspired to force him into working for them, killing everyone else in the home and threatening him with the same. They wanted to recreate the Old Man Logan timeline where Mysterio had developed an illusion so grand it tricked Wolverine into murdering his fellow X Men. Just wanting to be left alone, Quentin formed a clever escape plan and met up with the Avenger Hakweye, the two conspiring to take down the operation, whilst also hiding Beck from Old Man Logan himself, who was hellbent on murdering Mysterio to prevent his own timeline repeating itself. Eventually the scheme was taken down, and Beck one again faked his death by disguising a random Hydra goon as himself that Logan killed. He returned back to the empty nursing home to exile himself in peace once more, but it won't be long till someone else will require the talented trickster that is, Mysterio....

Subject Interview

A green fog would begin to mysteriously sweep in around the ankles of the frightened goons, a local resident may even mistake it for one of the many chemical concoctions conjured up by the crazed crooks of this decrepit old city. However upon wafting into the air, the substance was odorless, tasteless, and no signs of panicked shrieks or ghastly laughter emanating from within the battered and busted up establishment. Attempting to reach the door would prove fruitless, as if in an instant it would fade away into nothing more than a wall of bricks! One had to wonder what kind of mysticism and madness had made it's way upon the crew of crooks...





- Ten Minutes Prior -



Tours were meant to be grand, to be glorious! Not trudging through some litter filled hellhole full of escaped lunatics and street gangs! Quentin made a mental note of firing his current agent once he returned back to his humble abode of flashing lights and games of false chance. The Monarch of Misdirection had allowed himself to be talked into filming a commercial for a new casino branch in New York, one that had been funded by an acquaintance of his back in Vegas. The wind blowing through his cape, he had heard the alarm ring on his way towards a dinner meeting with the director of the commercial....Perhaps he could make some time to arrive fashionably late. What is a little show for the presses afterall?





- Back To Present -



The green fog would suddenly spring forth into a swirling vortex, blowing the hats off the gang of goons in a spectacular display as a glowing orb appeared within the thick fog. "Now then, gaze upon a spectacle far greater than the luster of any gem or jewel! Your time has come to an end foul fiends of felony, for I AM HERE!" came a billowing voice, as with a boom of thunder the gas dispersed to reveal a lustrous warlock whose spherical visage reflected the expressions of his captive audience. "Such criminal scum shall face the unforgiving wrath of the mighty MYSTERIO!!!" Declared the mysterious mage as with a twirl of the cape he seemingly dispersed into a swarm of cackling flying imps, swooping towards the thugs in an attempt to chomp at their limbs or weaponry.
