Subject Attributes
Superhuman Abilities:
Darkforce Conduit - Tyrone is a living portal to a dark dimension that is occupied by a demon known as the Predator. This portal makes him a living darkforce being who can absorb the life force and minds of people he physically touches if he's not careful.
Darkforce Channeling - Tyrone can use the darkforce to create a field of pure darkness in his general vicinity using his cloak as the focal point. Anyone trapped within this field of darkness feel cold, numb, and begin to hallucinate and see their greatest fears. Continued exposure can drive the victim to the brink of insanity. If Tyrone isn't careful, they will start to be consumed by the field of darkness.
Darkforce Teleporting - Tyrone is able to enter the darkforce and use the dimension as a shortcut on Earth. While it may only be a few steps into the dark dimension, he can exit it many miles away from where he started on Earth. Tyrone is capable of bringing others along with him but it is largely considered a risk due to how dangerous the dark dimension is for people other than him or beings like Dagger who can touch the lightforce. If Tyrone teleports many people, however, he will be exhausted and weakened when they re-emerge.
Darkforce Intangibility - As Cloak, Tyrone is completely intangible and has the appearance of a dark ghost underneath his blue and black cloak. He can move through walls, objects, and bullets can pass through him easily. He can make his body solid at will or if exposed to too much light energy.
Enhanced Strength - While this hasn't been thoroughly tested to see what his limits are, Tyrone is able to move twice his body weight with general ease despite his lean, scrawny frame.
Standard Abilities:
Street Smarts - Tyrone has been homeless ever since he ran away from the police at 17 years old. As such, he has an extensive knowledge of surviving on the streets as a runaway.
Paraphernalia:
Cloak - On the outside it appears to be a regular cloak. Not much is known about the cloak that Tyrone covers his darkforce form in. While it doesn't appear to have any mystic or magical powers of it's own, it has appeared in the past or in alternate dimensions on other magical hosts.
Subject Weaknesses:
Predator - Due to the nature of the Darkforce, a demonic entity known as the Predator lives within the realm. Since Tyrone's power taps into the Darkforce, he is susceptible to the Predator's influence and, most importantly, his need to feed.
Hunger - The Predator that lives in and controls the Darkforce needs to be fed parodically through skin contact with anyone who enters his realm. The hunger is excruciatingly painful and has the appearance as if Tyrone is going through a withdrawal of some type. At this point in time, one of the only ways to subdue the hunger is Dagger's lightforce energy. If she isn't available, Tyrone will have to absorb someone into his cloak to feed the Predator.
Light Overdose - If Tyrone is exposed to too much light he will temporarily lose his powers and revert to his human form.
Only Mortal - While his Cloak form is intangible, Tyrone is susceptible to any conventional cause of death outside of it. This includes gunshot wounds, stabbing, drowning, suffocating, etc.
Stuttering - Manifesting at a young age, Tyrone has a stuttering disability that keeps him from speaking clearly when put in stressful situations. He was able to get some semblance of control of it but it is difficult to maintain. As Cloak his stutter disappears but will return once he returns to his human form.
Flighty - Tyrone has been on the run since he was 17 years old and old habits die hard. If a situation begins to feel too much for him or if there is an increase of police presence in a situation, Tyrone will flee town.
Subject History
Early Life, Meeting Tandy, and the Experiment
Tyrone "Ty" Johnson grew up in poverty in Boston, Massachusetts. Despite a debilitating stutter and his financial circumstances, Ty was considered bright and intelligent for his age. While out with his best friend, the boys witnessed a robbery gone wrong and an innocent man shot by the robber. Billy and Ty fled the scene, worried the police would believe they were the perpetrators of the crime due to being two young, black men. When they were caught, however, Ty attempted to tell the police that Billy was innocent but his stutter prevented his words from coming out clearly. As a result, the police shot and killed Billy as he fled. Terrified and panicked, Ty was able to get away from the police and leave the city of Boston entirely.
As a runaway, Ty was able to catch a bus to New York City where he met fellow runaway Tandy Bowen. Unlike him, Tandy came from a wealthy family from Ohio who she left behind due to their emotional neglect of her. When a mugger attempted to steal Tandy's purse, Ty instinctively tackled the man and Tandy treated him to dinner. Despite their difference in personality and background, Ty and Tandy became quick friends and stuck together as they tried to figure out what to do next with their lives.
While Ty was cautious and wary of strangers, Tandy was much more open and friendly. When a stranger offered them shelter for the night, Tandy gladly accepted and a reluctant Tyrone agreed to go along to protect her. Ty's instincts were correct, however, when they were delivered to a criminal chemist to test a new drug that would potentially replace heroine on the streets. Ty, Tandy, and another captive who would later become the villain Mr. Negative survived the tests and escaped - however both Tandy and Tyrone began to notice changes to their bodies.
While Tandy began to glow in a brilliant white light, Ty's body became engulfed in an inky, living darkness. When the chemist sent his thugs after the pair for escaping, Ty's darkness instinctively reached out and pulled the criminals into the darkness and consumed them. While this was happening, Tandy discovered she could manifest projectiles made of pure light that she used as weapons. After the pair survived this attack, the decided to use these newfound abilities to fight street and drug crime in the city.
