- Spell Reversing
- Summoning: Doom could summon hordes of demonic creatures.
- Teleportation

- Elemental Manipulation: Doom could create a blizzard within seconds.
- Mind Transference: By training with an alien race, Doom has gained the ability to switch his mind with that of another nearby human being with whom he has made eye contact, a process which he learned from the alien Ovoids. However, Doom prefers his own body and only uses this transference power as a last resort.
- Technopathy: Doom can exert technopathic control over certain machines, most notably the Doombots, but can control other technologies too, as he did with his suit's charger, describing his ability as latent telepathy.
- Telekinesis: After being sent to the dawn of time by Marquis of death, Victor claimed that he spent a millennia transforming his body and mind thus becoming a superior being. This resulted in him to being able to use notable telekinesis as well as levitate himself.
- Power Nullification: Doom has repeatedly blocked the Fantastic Four's powers using his mind.
Standard Abilities:
Super-Genius Intelligence: Doctor Doom's most dangerous weapon is his intellect. He is one of the top mortal minds on the planet. Doom even cured Ben Grimm of his Thing form. Doom has constructed hundreds of devices, including a working time machine, devices which can imbue people with powers, and many types of robots. His most frequently used robots are his "Doombots," exact mechanical replicas of the himself. They look like him, talk like him, and even act like him. Individually, Doombots have an advanced AI (artificial intelligence) so that each one believes itself to be the real Doom. As a safety measure, each Doombot has a dampener program that is triggered whenever the real Doom (or another Doombot) is nearby. These "body doubles" appear when Doom cannot be present or is unwilling to risk his own life, and are often responsible for Doom's seeming return from certain death. Another common type of robot used is the Servo-Guard, the police force of Latveria. Doom specializes in physics, robotics, cybernetics, genetics, weapons technology, biochemistry, and time travel. He also has natural talents for leadership, strategy, politics, and manipulation.
Master Martial Artist: During his time in Tibet, Doom was presumably trained in martial arts by the monks. He is vastly skilled in many combat techniques, both armed and unarmed. He has been trained by the best sword masters on Earth and can achieve very powerful nerve strikes. His combat skills are so great that he managed to kill a lion with his bare hands, to be indistinguishable to Daredevil while in his suit and to wield Captain America's shield as skillfully as Steve Rogers himself. He was also able to defeat Black Panther in close combat even when his suit was depowered and incapacitate Taskmaster on pure hand to hand, without the aid of technology or magic.
Peak Human Conditioning: Doom has trained his body to the level of the finest human athlete. He is well-built, fast and agile. He has also displayed great reflexes and equilibrium. Victor once claimed that he was training and building himself physically for years, so as to be ready to face the demonic beings called from Mephisto during their annual confrontation. His physical strength and durability match even those of Daredevil.
Indomitable Will: Doom has phenomenal determination, fearlessness and strength of will. Indeed, he has the strongest will on Earth. Hence, he was able to resist psychic attacks from Emma Frost and the Purple Man using only his will, to reject the mystical armor that the Soulsword provides the wielder on sheer willpower alone and while he was tortured in Hell, he refused to let a single audible indication of pain exit his mouth. Doom's willpower could be considered even godly as, after having stolen the Beyonders' omnipotent abilities for himself, he was capable of creating an entire new planet from the remnants of incursion points between collapsing worlds, that new planet was Battleworld. He held this world together with his will.
Highly Influential Connections: As Monarch of Latveria, Doctor Doom has access to technological and military hardware. He also had command of conventional military forces.
Charismatic leader: Doom is able to attract people's positive attraction, especially on the citizens of Latveria, even when his plans are failing. He is also a skilled politician and strategist and has occasionally been the leader of numerous teams, including the Cabal and the Fantastic Four.
Artist: Doom has shown himself to be a talented artist. He painted a duplicate of the Mona Lisa while using Layla Miller as his model.
Pianist: Doom has shown himself to be a talented pianist. He has played various compositions of his own creation.
Master Swordsman: Doom has been shown being proficient in sword combat, having been trained by the best teachers - until he overcame them all - and being able to out-duel Warlord Krang in swordsmanship.
Weapon Systems and Vehicles Proficiency: Victor is highly proficient in the use of weapons, mostly those of his own creation, such as battle suits, ray weapons and bombs, but he also utilizes rifles, guns and grenades with great aiming ability. He has also been shown as a capable driver of vehicles such as the Excavator, the Gyroscopic Aircraft, the Doom Cycle and the Doom Copter.
Multilingual: Along with English, he speaks all languages spoken in Latveria, those being Latverian, German, Hungarian and Romany and possibly several others.
Paraphernalia:
Doom Armor: Dr. Doom's original armor is a nuclear-powered, computer-assisted battle suit. It was magically forged at a monastery in Tibet, but since then has been repaired by normal (technological) means.
- Enhanced Strength: The armor gives Dr. Doom the ability to lift (press) several tons. He has held his own against Spider-Man in hand to hand combat. The armor also grants him such strength he can pulverize a diamond with no effort.
- Outstanding Durability: The armor is fashioned of a high-strength titanium alloy.
- Video Communicator: Built into the right wrist is a video communicator, which he can use to stay in contact with his bases from any point on Earth.
- Electric Shock: The outer surface of the armor can generate a massive electric shock on command.
- Electrical Field: Also known as Electrical Force Field, the Electro-Magnetic Amplifier and Neural Disruptor, this mechanism allows Doom to generate a point-blank electric shock causing enormous damage to anyone daring enough to touch Doom - for example, someone in melee with him. It also affects, to a lesser extent, nearby people not in direct contact with Doom's armor. Anyone affected is susceptible to falling unconscious. Doom used this device to kill his clone and also to knock down Elvin Haliday and even Colossus, who had resisted previous attacks.
- Magnetic Polarity Controllers: Besides manipulating metal, this device allows Doom to redirect Magneto's power against him.
- Teleportation: Doom's armor is able to teleport him across a short-range of distances
- Link to Doom's Time-Platform: An invention Doom can use to travel through time.
- Flight: Dr. Doom's suits of armor are upgraded to give him the power of flight without the use of jet-packs.
- Jet-Packs: The typical suit of armor has twin jet-packs mounted at the waist, though other suits (or modifications of the original suit) contain a single jet-pack mounted on the back.
- Concussive Blasts: Concussive bolts of force can be fired from the gauntlets and faceplate of the armor, though the mask only generates force blasts when it is not being worn.
- Force-Field: The suit's best defense is the force-field generated by the armor, which has a maximum radius of eight feet (and so can encompass others); Doom cannot attack without lowering his force-field.
- Infrared Vision: Infrared scanners in the helmet allow the wearer to detect heat sources, permitting night vision and the ability to see invisible persons (unless they do not give off or can somehow mask their heat signature).
- Recycling System: The armor is self-supporting, equipped with internal stores and recycling systems for air, food, water, and energy, allowing the wearer to survive lengthy periods of exposure underwater or in outer space.
- Sensor Systems: Optical scanners in the helmet allow the helmet's eyepieces to be used as high-powered telescopes, and parabolic ear amplifiers fitted inside the helmet allow Doom to detect extremely faint sounds and unusual frequencies within the audible range for humans.
- Vacuum Resistance: Doom's armor allows him to survive in space, underwater or at toxic environments.
- Solar Energy Absorption: A thermo-energizer allows the armor to absorb and store solar and heat energy, and use it to power the armor's other systems; this system can only be used while the force-field is deactivated.
- Thermal Units: This device hidden on Doom's gloves allowed him to spray a cloud of yellow mist with special properties to nullify invisibility powers of a character in an area. Once this enemy was located, Doom could easily change to a different attack.
- Personal Adapters: Using this devise Doom can absorb multiple forms of energy.
- Tech Invulnerability: Doom's armor is impervious to some of his other devices, such as the Disintegrator. His suit was also unhackable by the Extremis.
- Splinters of the True Cross: Doom claims that his armor contains splinters of the True Cross, along with other such defenses (presumably to protect him from undead enemies, i.e Dracula)) Considering Doom's capabilities to time travel, there is possibility of this being true.
Subject Weaknesses:
Egomaniacal: It has been shown in the past that Doom can be manipulated by pandering to his sense of superiority, especially over Reed Richards. Spider-Man was able to gain his assistance concerning unknown technology by saying Reed could not figure it out. This ego is also the main reason for his vendetta against Reed, as he cannot accept that Reed understood his equations better than he did.
Disfigurement: Victor is deeply ashamed of the scarring on his face, entirely reluctant to go out in public with his disfigured face showing. Having his face suddenly revealed against his wishes has caused Doom to suffer a breakdown numerous times.
Grandeur: Doom has an unwavering love for the world and humanity as a whole. However, he believes himself the only one capable of saving the world and bringing about lasting peace. To this end he can foil goodwill efforts of others simply because of his own selfishness or jealously that someone may bring peace without his aid.
Conscious: After the Inversion, Victor has developed a guilty conscious over the lives he has ruined and taken. He wants to inspire positive change in the world but his conflicted on how to do so. Continue his villainous ways of leading humanity to peace through force, or take a more heroic approach and work with the various heroes of the world saving humanity one life at a time.
Subject History
Victor was the child of Gypsy travelers in Latveria, a small European country. Victor's mother, Cynthia, was killed soon after she called upon the demon Mephisto for power. She left Victor with his father, asking him to protect him from Mephisto. Victor's father, Werner, was a doctor who was called upon by King Vladimir of Latveria to treat his wife. Unable to do so, Werner fled with Victor and died soon afterward, trying to protect his son. Victor was left with his father's best friend, Boris. Victor later discovered his mother's mystical books and artifacts. With them, he was able to teach himself sorcery. He made several unsuccessful attempts to free his mother's soul from Mephisto.
Since magic had failed him, Victor decided to turn to science. At science Victor excelled, developing several inventions, and was eventually given a scholarship to Empire State University. While studying at university Victor designed an invention to rescue his mother from Mephisto’s dimension. Another student attempted to warn Victor of an error in his calculations but his arrogance had already grown by so much at this point that Victor did not believe he could have made any mistakes. Victor’s machine ended up exploding and permanently scarred his face. The student he refused to listen to was none other than Reed Richards, a man who Victor would come to despise more than anything or anyone.
Doom later went to Tibet and found an old order of monks. He practiced and mastered their ways enough for him to become their leader. Von Doom then tasked the monks with making his first suit of armor. Eager to wear the suit, Doom placed the still-hot steel faceplate to his face, further worsening his scarring. The scarring did not impede Victor from his new identity. As Dr. Doom, Victor killed Baron Vladimir, imprisoned his son Rudolfo, and gained control over Latveria. Using his intellect and inventions, Dr. Doom molded Latveria into a thriving nation.
While on a quest to conquer the world, Doom had several run-ins with his former rival, Reed Richards and his super-team, the Fantastic Four.
When Doom battled and defeated the Silver Surfer, he stole the Surfer's powers and surfboard, becoming one of the most powerful beings on Earth. With these new-found powers, he was able to finally defeat the Fantastic Four. He then began running amok causing havoc all over the world. After another confrontation with the Fantastic Four, Doom was tricked into flying into the barrier Galactus set up around the Earth, and the Surfer's powers and surfboard returned to their rightful owner.
As part of a plan to conquer the world, Doom kidnapped Zebediah Killgrave, the mind-controlling supervillain known as Purple Man, and imprisoned him within a gigantic Psycho-Prism which not only bestowed Purple Man's powers on Doom, but also augmented them to a global scale. Using this device, Doom manipulated the United Nations and every government to legally name him emperor of the Earth. Under Doom's command, the planet saw prosperity, equality, and the end of war and hunger, but at the cost of every citizen's free will. Additionally, Doom began to feel that his victory was almost meaningless, due to any lack of challenge to achieve or maintain his goal.
During the superhero Civil War, Reed Richards and several other heroes defeated a Doombot in New York City. Doom himself may or may not have been responsible. In another ploy to gain leverage during this time of disunity, Doom proposed an alliance between Latveria and the Black Panther's country of Wakanda. Black Panther and his new wife, Storm, however, saw through Doom's intrigue.
In the fallout of Secret Invasion, we first see Dr. Doom attending the meeting of the Dark Illuminati. Victor is unimpressed with Norman Osborn's brave new world but plays ball anyways. Following the departure of the other Illuminati, Namor and Doom talk about their real plans. Doom says that if things do not go the way he thinks, there will be a battle the likes the universe has never seen. Upon his return to Latveria, Doom is attacked by Morgana Ley Fay after she had attempted to murder him in the past. The powerful witch blasts Doom and knocks him down for the count. As Morgana moves in for the kill, Doom is saved by Norman Osborn and his Dark Avengers. Dr. Doom has also been working with groups of B-Ranked super-villains since the Secret Invasion. He smashed up the Sinister Six, (Kraven, Doc Ock., Sandman, Chameleon, Vulture, and Mysterio) before telling them he just had plans for them. Doom gives them instructions and helps them enhance their powers while he uses them to further his agenda.
After this, we see Dr. Doom teamed up with the Circus of Crime searching for the secret of eternal life. They come into a clash with Baron Zemo and the Masters of Evil. It is revealed that the battle between the two groups was a test set-up by Doom to see who he would recruit. Even though the Circus won (with a very great deal of help from Doom). Doom recruits the Masters of Evil but also extends his hand to Python Princess. Doom had one last meeting with Norman and his Cabal, but still refused to side with Norman. To show off his power, Norman unleashed his 'secret weapon' on Doom and defeated him. But Doom was obviously prepared for this sort of attack, sending a Doombot in his place. The Doombot unleashed advanced technology to attack the Cabal and Norman's Dark Avengers. Doom had made it clear that no one controls Doctor Doom.
When Doom learned of a xenophobic group of Wakandans known as the Desturi, he began his plans for gaining access to the vast amounts of vibranium located in Wakanda. Vibranium has the ability to be magically charged and has infinite power potential, something Doom had figured how to use to make himself virtually unstoppable. Doom developed nanite cameras which were dispersed into all Wakandans, making them unknowing spies for Doom. With all the security information of Wakanda available to him, he was able to gain access to the vault that contained the country's vibranium. In a last ditch effort to stop him, T'Challa rendered all Wakandan vibranium inert and useless.
When the Young Avengers helped Magneto find his daughter Wanda, they found her with no memory of her past and betrothed to Doctor Doom. He was revealed to have played a part in increasing the power levels of the Scarlet Witch, leading to the events which disassembled the Avengers and the alteration of reality known as M-Day. The Young Avengers traveled back in time with Wanda, they were able to restore her memory, and thus her powers. Back in the present, Doom stole Wanda's powers in an effort to become fully omnipotent. He offered to make perfect the lives of all those present and even revive the dead, only if he became the king of the world. The Young Avengers, the Avengers and the X-Men refused, instead battling him until his new powers overloaded, leaving him powerless again. He escaped, teleporting himself away after taking responsibility for all of Wanda's actions, stating that she was only a puppet, and only he was powerful enough to create that kind of chaos.
After the death of the Human Torch, Doom joined the Future Foundation with the condition that Reed Richards would restore the intelligence he lost at the hands of the Intelligencia. He helped the team search for the Richards' of alternate universes and was kidnapped by "Reed-Alpha", who brought him to Latveria and confronted Kristoff von Doom, who had taken over as ruler. There, with the help of the Future Foundation they re-built 616 Reed's "the Bridge", a device that allowed Reed to peer into alternate realities, traveling to them at will. While on the Bridge, "Reed-Alpha" freed Doom to help battle the Mad Celestials. Rather than taking his chance to escape, Doom stayed and fought for Latveria. Ultimately, Doom lost the battle and seemingly died.
With no knowledge as to how he survived the blast from the Mad Celestials, Doom woke up in the middle of the ruins of the Interdimensional Council of Reeds, where Valeria had left him a present: the Infinity Gauntlet of one of the expired Reed's and a collection of lobotomized Dooms from alternate dimensions. Doom began his preparations for the future.
Doom is temporarily transformed into a heroic figure after being exposed to the Inversion wave that was unleashed during the battle with Red Onslaught. Heroic Doom is responsible for resurrecting Brother Voodoo, who plays a key role in defeating Scarlet Witch and bringing an end to the crisis. Doom ultimately helps undo the Inversion despite realizing that it will cause him to return to his old ways, and is last seen back in Latveria with the Red Skull as his prisoner.
When the multiverse finally perished in the final incursion between Earth-616 and Earth-1610, Doom used the power of the Beyonders to salvage the remains of several realities and build a patchwork planet named Battleworld, which was ruled under his iron fist, with the help of Stephen Strange, who was Battleworld's sheriff. Molecule Man continued empowering God Emperor Doom, and remained hidden in a chamber. During the early days of this planet, Doom encountered an alternate version of the Fantastic Four, one in which Reed Richards didn't exist. Their Sue Storm fell in love with Victor, and they had two children, Franklin and Valeria.
As eight years went by, Doom and Strange managed to twist the memories of their inhabitants, to the point they would no longer remember what had existed before Battleworld. Even though he was an omnipotent ruler, Victor ultimately felt he was failing his duty as a god, he thought he wasn't capable of properly inspiring his people, and even though Battleworld was the perfect world he wanted, he considered himself its only flaw. he relative monotony of Doom's reign was interrupted with the discovery of an empty vessel in the domain known as Utopolis, a life raft that had been built by the survivors of Earth-1610, the villainous Maker and the Cabal. The vessel kept them in suspended animation for the eight years that passed, and had allowed them to survive the end of the multiverse and end up on Battleworld.
Sheriff Strange recognized the design of the raft, which was that of a similar vessel he had found three years earlier and had kept hidden in his Isle of Agamotto. When Strange investigated the vessel of his proprietary, he freed its occupants, the survivors of Earth-616, among which were Mr. Fantastic, Namor and Black Panther. Doom is eventually opposed by the heroes after they remember the truth. During the final battle, Molecule Man gives Doom's power to Reed, who heals Victor's face.
In the aftermath of the Multiverse's restoration, and with both Reed and Sue Richards presumed dead, the newly-healed Victor sets out to try and change his ways. He befriends Tony Stark and assists on a few occasions, even giving him one of the Wands of Watoomb and helping him defeat Madame Masque . After Tony is rendered comatose during a battle with Captain Marvel, Victor takes on the mantle of Iron Man. During this time, he clashes with foes such as the Maker, and even becomes a member of the Avengers after forming a friendship with Nadia Pym.
Doom's sudden turn against the supervillain community sparked grievances that resulted in a group of villains led by The Hood joining forces to take down Victor. After the villains besieged Doom several times, the final battle occurred when The Hood attempted to take over Stark Industries, which happened not long after Stark had secretly recovered from his injuries. Tony confronted The Hood and stumbled into Victor. Doom took on The Hood and the demon possessing him one-on-one, and his face was severely burned by the demon in the process. Following the villains' defeat, Victor retreated to the ruins of Castle Doom where a young woman named Zora broke in and told him that Latveria has fallen into chaos without his rule. She handed Doom his iconic mask, which he donned once again to liberate his country from the dictators who have seized it.
Doom quickly took back control of Latveria, and moved onto a goal to capture Galactus with the purpose of turning the being into a power source for Latveria. Zora, now codenamed Victorious, was imbued with powers of the Power Cosmic and made a Herald of Doom. Galactus was subsequently subdued and entrapped in Mount Doom.
Doom spoke out against the Antlion Space Station, a “stable” black hole waste depository on the moon, and when the station is destroyed and nearly 3,000 lives lost Doctor Doom is framed for the terrorist attack. Doom is attacked by Union Jack and Agent Zero as all nations want Doom captured dead or alive. In order to not heat up the conflict, Doom willingly allowed himself to get arrested. While being escorted to New York, the jet transporting Doom was attacked. Luckily, Kang freed Doom which allowed him to save himself from the falling jet. As Doom had become wanted, Morgan le Fay contacted him and offered him shelter. After telling her about visions he had recently begun seeing where he is a savior of the Earth with a wife and two children, she had Doom meet the Witness who could tell the future. However, Doom was then shot in the head by Taskmaster, killing him. He was then sent Hell where he was confronted by Mephisto
Subject Interview
Doom awoke in the rivers of fire. He dragged himself across the molten mega and broken bones of those who had fallen to the torments of Hell before him. Victor was unimpressed by the rolling fires that flickered and roared for his immortal soul. He was similarly unimpressed by the the collective of orange scaled demons towering over him. The masked ruler stared up into their coal black eyes, unmoved by their jagged smiles as they bared down on him.
This was not Doom's first death, not his first trip into the burning chasms of the underworld, and highly likely wouldn't be his last. What it was however, was a mistake. Doctor Doom was not meant to be there, Hell could not claim him, least of all these poor devil substitutes. Perhaps he would have been more orderly in the presence of one such as Mephisto, but no, not even that would bring Doom's will to bend.
"You cretinous bugs operate outside of your scope. Step aside now or see what sort of death awaits soulless things."
Time was not on Victor's side. By the appearance of these meaningless underlings of Hell, Doom could surmise that the realm's ruler was not yet aware of his death. The longer Doom was able to avoid the attention of Mephisto the better his chances of escaping Hell and returning to the world of the living. It would likely require powerful magic to do such a thing, time was a crucial component of any plans of escape.
"NO HUMAN CAN THREATEN LORDS OF HELL AND EXPECT TO ESCAPE TORMENT."
"AND NO DOUBT THERE ARE GRAVE PLANS FOR ONE SUCH AS YOURSELF, MORTAL."
"YESSSS. WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE."
"Fools! You do not know me. To know Doom is to know fear. But do not fret," he gripped the edges of his green cloak as he took off in a running start for the demonic behemoths. Doom sprang up at them, magical crests and sigils materializing around the fists he threw toward the monsters of the fire rivers.
"Doom will teach you thoroughly!"
