Kitty Pryde growled to herself, her body slamming into the ground hard, rocks and dust flying up with the impact. She slid several feet and picked herself back up. The sentinel stared down at her with glowing red eyes like balls of fire. The Danger Room was running her own simulation: attack of the Sentinels. The war was growing in close and Kitty was preparing herself. It was only a matter of time that they sent the giant guards against the citizens and if Shadowcat was anywhere near, those robots were in trouble.
The area was set to look like the Big Apple, innocents running amok for safety. It was the best distraction, saving people while fighting the giant Sentinel. It was realistic, not to have everything planned and the enemy obvious. Kitty had programmed several surprises for herself, humans that would suddenly whip out weapons to help the Sentinel take out the mutant. They were more annoying than the giant robot after her blood.
The Sentinel's metal screeched as it raised it's arm towards her, the palm of its hand glowing alight with gathering energy. Kitty sprinted to the right, phasing through the line of cars in her way before she reached the Sentinel's side. It's laser followed her, away from the restaraunt full of hiding people and onto its marker: Shadowcat's Mutant Signature. The laser grew bright in a flash and Kitty leapt to the side at the last second, landing hard on the pavement as the laser destroyed through the concrete and down into the sewers.
"Thanks, Big Boy." Shadowcat leapt through the hole and raced through the tunnels, green and gray water sploshing up at her legs with each foot fall. The stench was easy to ignore when one was fighting for their life. She had to take this thing down before it threatened more innocent lives. Kitty stopped in mid-tunnel, turning around to wait for the Sentinel to follow. "Come on, come one." Silence.
Where the hell was it? The ground above her crashed and the chunk of pavement lifted away to reveal the Sentinels stern face. "Cheater." She focused, blurring the atoms ahead of her in the air as she stepped up and up and up. Shadowcat ran across the air, diagnally racing along to the Sentinel's great eyes. Shadowcat jumped, phasing into the robot and disfiguring its system, destroying the data and shutting it down before phasing out the top. The Sentinel collapsed and she stood to face a crowd of diversity. Some cheered, while others waved weapons. The world had changed so much...
